NEHAWU To Host International Working Women's Day Celebrations Event On Monday

The National Education, Health and Allied Workers’ Union (NEHAWU) will host an event to celebrate the 2021 International Working Women’s day on Monday March 8, 2021 under the theme “Eliminating violence and harassment in the world of work”.
The International Working Women's Day is marked on the 8th of March every year and it is a major day of global celebration for the economic, political and social achievements of women. The national union will use this event to highlight the scourge of Gender Based Violence (GBV), harassment of female workers in the workplace including interrogating the role that women should play in the broader struggle to build a classless society that does not discriminate people based on gender. The event will also pay homage to all women workers who have selflessly served during the COVID-19 pandemic and also salute all those who have passed on while trying to save the lives of others.
The 2nd Deputy President of NEHAWU, Comrade Nyameka Macanda, will address the event which will be held under the following details:
