The bursary scheme ensures that Comrade Mkhize's legacy lives on by supporting under-privileged and deserving students. Old Mutual offers annual bursaries for NEHAWU members and their families.
- NEHAWU has a savings co-operative recognised by the Reserve Bank of South Africa that allows members to save and provides access to loans. It is democratically owned and controlled by its members.
