NEHAWU To Convene Press Conference On Strike At Department Of Water and Sanitation And Share Exclusived Info On Financial Crisis

Monday March 5, 2018

The National Education, Health and Allied Workers’ Union [NEHAWU] will convene a press conference on Wednesday to communicate the state of readiness and details of the nation-wide strike action at the Department of Water and Sanitation.

This morning, the national union will commence with lunch hour pickets building up to the total shut down on Thursday 8th March 2018. Our strike action might have a negative impact on supplying water to our communities during the strike so the press conference will be used to alert communities to ensure that they have enough water supply for basic necessities.

At the press conference we will also share exclusive information from our members who have either been suspended or charged for refusing to implement decisions imposed on them to appoint certain companies to benefit from undue tender processes of the department.

Details of the press conference:
Date: Wednesday March 7, 2018
Venue: NEHAWU House 56 Marshall Street, Marshalltown, Johannesburg
Time: 11:00 am

Members of the media are encouraged to attend and to cover the press conference.

Please confirm attendance with NEHAWU Media Liaison Officer, Cde Khaya Xaba, at 082 455 2500 or email
