NEHAWU To Celebrate Nurses Day In Cape Town Tomorrow

The National Education, Health and Allied Workers’ Union [NEHAWU] in the Gauteng Province met with the Gauteng Department of Health as part of mapping a way forward in relation to the payment of outstanding bonuses.

The National Education, Health and Allied Workers’ Union [NEHAWU] will hold an International Nurses Day celebration tomorrow at the Somerset Hospital in Cape Town. This year the day is commemorated under the theme “Nurses a Voice to Lead – Health is a Human right”.

The aim of the event is to extend gratitude and appreciation to all South African nurses for their commitment and efforts in ensuring a sustainable healthcare system that is responsive to the needs of our people against all odds. The national union will also use the event to share its analysis of the current state of the public healthcare sector in the country.

The President of NEHAWU, Cde Mzwandile Makwayiba, will address the event.
